ULPGCUniversidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC)

The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) is a Spanish public university, located in the Autonomous Region of the Canary Islands, with more than 23,000 students. ULPGC, leader of the consortium and scientific partner of the project, has a great experience in European Research Projects. The Research Group Integrated and Advanced Manufacturing comprises 15 researchers from the mechanical engineering and chemical process engineering departments. The group has undertaken a considerable amount of research related to Additive Manufacturing (AM) techniques, mainly involving FDM, SLS, electroforming, rapid tooling and vacuum casting, as well as on polymer processing and bio-composites. The research group is member of the Spanish Association of Rapid Manufacturing (ASERM), formed by technological centres, companies and universities in the field of AM. The group has an expertise on the characterization of plastic parts made by SLS and FDM and it has participated in several projects related to that field. Also, in ULPGC participates the research group of Biomechanics and Biomaterials, with expertise in applications focused on the medical field.
